Dogs love the taste of Totoniks, and you’ll notice their increased appetite at mealtimes.
Recently trialled with vets across New Zealand, the product has received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with owners reporting exceptional enthusiasm from their dogs. Thanks to their heightened sense of smell (up to 100,000 times that of humans), dogs are instinctively drawn to Totoniks’ nutritious formula, quickly realising it’s a delicious addition to their diet.
About Totoniks
Our mission is simple: we love dogs, so we’re using our knowledge and skills to support their wellbeing with the best nutrition nature can provide.
For a variety of reasons, many modern dog diets consist largely of dry food, which can contribute to dehydration. If your dog’s diet includes a significant portion of dry food, whether that’s for health reasons or convenience, they may be missing out on important nutrients and suffering from dehydration. By adding Totoniks to their food, you can support your dog’s hydration in a natural and delicious way.
Nearly 70% of dogs are on dry food diets, and vets are reporting an alarming increase in health problems resulting from dehydration
Our philosophy
Dogs are family
At Totoniks, we see dogs as more than just pets—they're family. Our founder Geoff's deep love for dogs comes from his background as police dog handler. Working with strong-willed dogs like Prince taught him the importance of gentle training and proper care. These insights guide everything we do at Totoniks, where we create products that meet dogs’ nutritional needs.
A dog's happiness and health are closely linked to good nutrition and care. That's why we focus on making products that support both their physical health and emotional wellbeing. At Totoniks, we're committed to helping you and your dog enjoy a happier, healthier life together.
Sustainability is at the heart of what we do.
Every aspect of the Totoniks range has sustainability and care for the environment at its heart.
Join us in our mission to support the health and wellbeing of our beloved dogs and protect the planet at the same time, one recyclable and naturally delicious package at a time. Watch your dog lap it up and beg for more. Totoniks – a simple yet revolutionary product that takes care of dog hydration and nutrition, naturally and sustainably.
Eco-friendly approach
Unlike many liquid products, which contain a high percentage of water, we believe in a smarter approach. Instead of shipping water across the globe, we empower dog owners to simply add water at home. This approach saves resources and cuts down on unnecessary environmental impact, making our product as eco-friendly as it is effective.
Repurposing
The principal ingredient, venison blood, repurposes a waste product. Venison, a low-cholesterol meat protein enjoyed globally, provides a rich source of bioavailable micronutrients in its blood, which typically goes to waste in the meat-processing system.
Totoniks diverts this valuable resource, transforming it into a beneficial product for dogs. This innovative use of a byproduct supports both the environment and the health of our pets.
Recycleable packaging
Nearly all of our packaging is recyclable: the cardboard box and wrapper, glass mixing bottle, and even the soft plastic sachets can be processed by most recycling facilities. In addition, by offering our product in convenient sachets, Totoniks not only minimises the weight and waste of the products, but also significantly reduces the products’ carbon footprint.
The roots of our brand
What does Totoniks mean?
Our roots are firmly in New Zealand soil. Māori culture, blood (referred to as “toto” in the Māori language) was considered sacred and held significant spiritual and symbolic importance. Blood was seen as a powerful life force that connects with ancestors, land, and spiritual essence. This belief is deeply rooted in the concept of “tapu” (sacredness) and “mana” (spiritual power or authority).
